Heroica-scroll

Scrolls are Spell Items that inflict negative or positive effects on the target. They require ether to use, but can be used indefinitely. They can be used by any class that has access to ether. Scholars are especially talented at using scrolls, having a 2/3 chance to successfully inflict the effect.

Scrolls can be imbued into artifacts to make them protect the wearer from the respective effect.

The following scrolls have been added to the game:

  • Scroll of Antimagic (Makes the target immune to magic for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether)
  • Scroll of Arc Blindness (Enables casting the blinded-effect to all enemies, making them unable to use a physical attack for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Arc Frailty (Enables casting the fragile-effect to all enemies, causing them to take double damage for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Arc Confusion (Enables casting the confused-effect to all enemies for the next three rounds, during which they have a 50/50 chance of targeting an ally instead of its opponents. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Arc Sealing (Enables casting the sealed-effect to the all enemies, making them unable to use a special skill for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Arc Sleep (Enables casting the sleep-effect to all enemies, forcing them to miss its turn for three rounds or until woken up by an attack. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Arc Weakening (Enables casting the weakened-effect to all enemies, halving their level for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs ether equal to the number of enemies.)
  • Scroll of Armor Sundering (Enables the user to lower the target's SP by 5 for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Blindness (Enables casting the Blinded-effect to the target, making it unable to use a physical attack for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Confusion (Enables casting the Confused-effect to the target for the next three rounds, during which it has a 50/50 chance of targeting an ally instead of its opponents. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Deep Sleep (Enables casting the fast asleep-effect to the target, forcing it to miss its turn for six rounds or until woken up by an attack. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Disenchantment (Enables the user to remove all positive effects from all opponents at the cost of 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Elemental Aura (Enables the user to cause the target's attacks deal only elemental damage corresponding to a gem available to the user for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Fear (Enables casting the afraid-effect to the target, forcing it to fight from the back row until the end of the battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Fire Armor (Enables the user to conjure a layer of fiery armor over the target, giving them a 50/50 chance to deal the burned by 10-effect when hit by Damage or Special Damage. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Fire Warding (Enables the user to make the target immune to fire for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Frailty (Enables casting the Fragile-effect to the target, causing it to take double damage for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Ice Armor (Enables the user to conjur a layer of ice on the the target for the duration of one battle. After a player rolls and is inflicted with Damage or Special Damage, the opponent has a 50/50 chance of being Stunned for the next round. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Ice Warding (Enables the user to make the target immune to ice for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Inspiration (Enables casting the Inspired-effect to the target, doubling the target's current and maximum health for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 10 ether.)
  • Scroll of Intellect (Enables the user to increase the target's level by 5 for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Love (Enables casting the enamored-effect to the target, making it unable to damage the caster for three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Luck (Enables casting the Lucky-effect to the target, causing attack dice to be rolled twice, taking the better effect of the two for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 10 ether.)
  • Scroll of Magic Disguise (Changes the appearance of the target to anything the caster desires for 1 ether per minute of duration (actual duration dictated by the Quest Master).)
  • Scroll of Minimizing (Enables casting the Minimized-effect on the target, reducing their power, max. health and max. ether to a tenth of their normal value (rounded up) for 3 rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 10 ether.)
  • Scroll of Minor Dispel (Enables the user to remove one negative effect from the target. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Newtity (Turns target into a Newt, causing the minimized-effect and the target's attacks become Bite (cause damage equal to level with poisoned by 1-effect). If target is an enemy, its Type becomes “Aquatic/Vermin,”. Effect lasts one round if cast in combat. Those immune to minimized or those who are already amphibians are immune. Costs 10 ether. Usable only by those who have been amphibians.)
  • Scroll of Poisoning (Enables the user to cause the target's attacks to deal the Poisoned by 10-effect for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Rage (Enables casting the enraged-effect to the target, forcing it to fight from the front row until the end of the battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Recklessness (Enables casting the Encouraged- and Fragile-effects to the target for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Sealing (Enables casting the Sealed-effect to the target, making it unable to use a special skill for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Shielding (Enables the user to grant (an additional) 5 SP to the the target for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 5 ether.)
  • Scroll of Sleep (Enables casting the Asleep-effect to the target, forcing it to miss its turn for three rounds or until woken up by an attack. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Sloth (Enables casting the slowed-effect on the target, making them unable to perform Free Hits. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 10 ether.)
  • Scroll of the Abyss (When cast, has a 50/50 chance to tame an aquatic monster for the next six rounds at the cost of 10 ether)
  • Scroll of the Chasm (When cast, has a 50/50 chance to tame a dark monster for the next six rounds at the cost of 10 ether)
  • Scroll of Tongues (Grants the user the Glossolalia Job Trait. Each casting lasts for a limited amount of time and costs 10 ether)
  • Scroll of Water Warding (Enables the user to make the target immune to water for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Weakening (Enables casting the Weakened-effect to the target, halving its level for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
  • Scroll of Wood Warding (Enables the user to make the target immune to wood for the duration of one battle. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.)
